Mrs. Dutt’s eighth-grade science class at Trafford Middle School did a fun, year-end science project in May. They completed an ice cream lab during which students demonstrated their understanding of thermal energy transfer, state changes, endothermic and exothermic systems, and freezing-point depression. Each student made his/her own ice cream as they collected temperature data throughout the process. To complete the lab, the students graphed their data, turned in a final lab report, and ate the finished product.
