Students Learn Valuable Skills at JA BizTown

The Trafford Middle School 6th-graders completed the core lessons for Junior Achievement’s experiential-learning program, “JA BizTown.” As a program finale, on May 23rd the students traveled to Carnegie, PA for a BizTown simulation in which each student was ‘employed’ within a thriving community and economy. Some of the skills and experiences gained from JA Biztown were financial literacy skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and business ethics.  The students also practiced formal business greetings, letter writing, job application skills, and job interviewing.

“The journey has been fun and educational,” commented School Counselor Megan McGraw.  “Students should now better understand how the world works and his or her future role as employer, employee, consumer, saver, and investor.”
