Students Observe ‘Children’s Grief Awareness Day’

“Children’s Grief Awareness Day”  is a day focused on supporting children who have experienced the death of a loved one -  children who typically feel very alone in the journey of grief they travel.  It is an opportunity to let grieving children know that they’re not forgotten in the midst of their grief.

On Thursday, November 17, 2022, Trafford Middle School observed the day by wearing blue and creating a ‘Wall of Hope.’ Students were encouraged to write names of loved ones who have died or messages of support for those who have lost someone on paper butterflies and hearts. The butterflies and hearts were hung up in the school’s main hallway to help raise awareness and provide support that grieving children need and deserve.
