‘Turkey Cup Challenge’ Benefits Food Bank

Trafford Middle School held its annual ‘Turkey Cup Challenge,’ during which $1,410 was raised for the Westmoreland County Food Bank.  During the week before Thanksgiving, each day presented a daily challenge.  Examples of challenges were “Pennies for Pencils” and “Double Bubble Dime Day.”  The homeroom that brought in the most money per challenge won the daily prize.  Then, the overall homeroom winner received a donut party.

Mrs. Todd's homeroom led in donations, collecting over $500.  “No single homeroom has ever raised that much money, but they dominated in most of the daily challenges,” commented teacher Nichole Valentich.  “The students had a lot of fun for a good cause this holiday season.”
